RaceWard Studio’s official game of the Isle of Man TT motorcycle races – TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 – will be released on the 11th of May 2023 it has been revealed.
The announcement arrived alongside a new gameplay trailer, demonstrating the Kawasaki ZX-10RR Superbike of Yorkshireman Dean Harrison on Section 5 of the Snaefell Mountain course. The video covers the section between the Gooseneck to The Bungalow’s famous tram tracks, via the fearsome Mountain Mile.
The video was shown during the NACON Connect livestream, where the publisher showcased its upcoming games in 2023.
It’s clear from the footage that TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge 3 has retained its Kylotonn-developed predecessors’ sensation of speed and course accuracy, with the onboard and external motorcycle sounds providing a more visceral experience akin to the real IOMTT.
Sound has been a bug bear of the series in recent years, something RaceWard has prioritised in its stewardship of the game. The Italian team – a division of Nacon Studio Milan – placed sound engineers on-site at the 2022 IOMTT, with microphones placed on competitors’ bikes to capture realistic audio.
