Thrustmaster’s thriving sim racing ecosystem continues to expand with the reveal of its new Hypercar Wheel Add-On, compatible with the T818 and T598 direct-drive wheelbases.

Unveiled at the ADAC SimRacing Expo 2024, Thrustmaster’s latest steering wheel sports a sleek oval design inspired by luxury hypercars, boasting a lightweight construction and premium materials.

The top and bottom of the wheel rim are covered in Alcantara, while the sides are wrapped in perforated leather handles for added grip. An aluminium faceplate adorns the centre, above a forged carbon component unique to each rim.

Elsewhere, Thrustmaster’s Hypercar Wheel Add-On is emblazoned with 25 action buttons, a d-pad, four rotary aluminium dials and two LED lights displaying RPM and race information. In addition, there are two magnetic paddle shifters and two front analogue triggers with a clutch assist function for configuring the biting point.

On PC, the Thrustmaster Hypercar Wheel Add-On will be compatible with the T818 and recently unveiled T598 direct drive wheelbase. For PlayStation owners, it will be compatible with the T598 on PS5 and PS4. Thrustmaster says it will also be compatible with all future wheelbases without requiring a special adapter.

Positioned below the flagship T818, the T598 is Thrustmaster’s latest mid-range direct drive wheelbase, providing 5 Nm of constant torque in games like Assetto Corsa Competizione and Gran Turismo 7 at a relatively affordable £449.99 / $689.99, in comparison to its competitors.

The bundle will be available in the US from 1st November and in Europe from 29th November, with the wheelbase sold separately from early 2025.
