The 25 minutes of Nürburgring: GT Sport Daily Races, w/c 22nd November 2021

Much to the annoyance of some Gran Turismo fans, you can’t do real-time 24-hour races within GT Sport. I, however, fall into the game not really caring. It annoyed me that they existed as it meant having to do a 24-hour race in order to complete the campaign.

Whether they exist in the upcoming Gran Turismo 7 remains to be seen, but I can see how the nostalgia of completing an endurance race by staying awake for a day or passing the controller around friends is alluring.

The maximum race length for a Daily Race is 25 minutes, but this week’s menu – commencing 22nd November – does at least offer up the 24-hour Nürburgring layout for some of those endurance feels.

But, before we get to the main event, Race A provides a touring-car-esque race, with front-wheel-drive Renaultsports and the shorter Suzuka Circuit East Course.

There are only two overtaking spots here, one into the first corner as someone else runs wide onto the lethal AstroTurf and the second. Well, I’ll let you find that one out. Sorry.

Expect plenty of shoulder-rubbing, with a quick qualifying lap essential.

Renaultsport Megane drift

Next up, a stone-cold classic combination. Our favourite track, Autodrome Lago Maggiore –GP, with any Gr.4 car of choice.

We’ve seen it, driven it, won it all before, yet still, we come back for more. The power of the Volkswagen Scirocco seems to be the golden ticket here.

Hyundai Genesis Coupe GT Sport

The 24h Nürburgring layout for 25 minutes. In all its 31.54-mile, misty, sunset glory. Not only is Race B our favourite track, but Race C is also on series producer’s Kazunori Yamauchi’s favourite venue too

Here you will only be completing only two laps, against 19 other cars, on the medium compound tyre. YouTube corner awaits…

Lexus RC-F GT3
