SimRacing Expo 2025: Cube Controls to host pit stop challenge and Mercedes-AMG GT3 car

Powered by

Cube Controls will exhibit a Mercedes-AMG GT3 car at this year’s SimRacing Expo, with a pit stop challenge and a special edition steering wheel available to sample.

Cube Controls will be at this year’s SimRacing Expo, replete with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 car on display.

The Italian sim racing and motorsport supplier will have two sim rigs set up with Straight4 Studios’ Project Motor Racing, exhibiting two very distinctive steering wheels.

The firm has enhanced its reputation from producing high-end steering wheels for real racecars and discerning sim racers, with highlights including its officially licensed Mercedes-AMG GT Edition Sim Wheel and its work on the official Honda TCR touring car.

However, its latest lightweight sim-focused Astra steering wheel will be available to try at the Expo, which Cube Controls believes is the lightest in its class at just 1150 grams. This will also be joined by a special steering wheel inspired by 130 years of Mercedes-Benz in motorsport.

Restricted to just 13 examples worldwide, Cube Controls is responsible for the striking steering wheel used in the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 130Y Motorsport, which is an enhanced version of the Affalterbach marque’s real-world GT3 challenger.

The special one-off sim racing version of the steering wheel features distinctive walnut handles, a brushed aluminium finish, anodised buttons and carbon fibre inserts, combining traditional touches with contemporary ergonomics, and it’s exclusive to this year’s SimRacing Expo.

Pit stop challenge

There’s even more fun to be had at Cube Controls’ SimRacing Expo stand, as there’ll be an exciting ‘pit stop challenge’ for visitors to participate in, using the aforementioned GT3 car.

During specially scheduled time slots, patrons will be able to wield wheel guns and engage in wheel swapping drills, competing as teams to set the fastest tyre changing time.
