Sim-to-motorsport competition Prodigy Racing League confirms 24 drivers

Following a length qualification and draft process, 26 sim racers will compete in a real-world motorsport championship later this year.

Sim-to-motorsport competition Prodigy Racing League confirms 24 drivers

The Prodigy Racing League has confirmed the lucky drivers who will form the grid for the inaugural Prodigy Three (P3) Championship – part of the Prodigy Racing League.

The tortuous process has involved virtual qualifying on iRacing, RaceRoom and rFactor 2, both oval and road course. Following the simulation race stages, several drivers made it through to an in-person Prodigy Week at Atlanta Motorsport Park where media, fitness and on-trackl driving challenges in Radicals awaited.

Recently, a London draft pick event (in partnership with Williams Esports) for the six teams that will enter the competition saw the 32 finalists whittled down to the 24 drivers who will take part in the motorsport championship.

There are two final spots, creating the 26-driver grid. Six of the drivers who were not selected at the draft will be part of a fan vote to secure the remaining seats.

The first round will be at the aforementioned Atlanta, Georgia, venue, 22nd-23rd October. The rest of the calendar and racing format will be announced later.

“We’re thrilled to join the Prodigy Racing League and compete in this groundbreaking series,”  said Luke Jones, VP of Esports at Guild Esports.

“Our team is ready to showcase their skills and explore the potential of transitioning from virtual to real racing. We look forward to an exciting season full of fierce competition and remarkable performances.”
