Rallycross has come to Rush Rally Origins in its latest update last week on 9th February. As of the new update, three Rallycross cups have been added to the fold, each with six different tracks for a total of 18 venues to race upon.
“Since launch, we’ve had quite a few requests for a Rallycross game mode,” the Steam update page read. “We actually wanted to do Rallycross from the start, but didn’t quite have the time to do it properly.”
Where the top down racing title previously had point-to-point rally racing at launch, these will be the first circuit courses where the starting line is also the finish line.
With the Rallycross additions, along with the 18 tracks, there are now 72 new medals, 36 new leaderboards and it is all encompassed by the new Rallycross race championship mode to partake in.
This Rallycross update also comes with another requested feature in Cross Platform Multiplayer.
As this update hits for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC via Steam, SteamDeck and on Mobile Android and iOS devices, those platforms will now be able to compete against one another in multiplayer lobbies.
The update is said to be coming to Nintendo Switch “very soon” which would make sense as to why the cross-platform lobby picture above has a player using a Switch.
Also worth noting, for the PC version at least, some wheel integration comes included with the update as well as cloud saving being turned on.
Rush Rally Origins is available from Brownmonster Games currently for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, SteamDeck and on Mobile Android and iOS devices.
