Originally set to release later this year, Super Woden: Rally Edge, a retro-style rally spin-off in the Super Woden series, has been delayed to 2026. Although a release date or window has not been announced, the Steam page currently lists Super Woden: Rally Edge with a Q1 2026 release window.
The retro-inspired rally title will be released on PC only initially, but the first two Super Woden GP games received console ports.
In an announcement on social media, solo Spanish developer ViJuDa says the delay will enable them to give Super Woden: Rally Edge “the time and attention it deserves” and relieve the “constant pressure” they felt when trying to meet the 2025 release target.

“I’ve made a decision regarding the development of the game. I want to make sure I give the project the time and attention it deserves. Working on it alone, I’ve realised that rushing only makes it harder to achieve the quality and detail I want,” solo Spanish developer ViJuDa announced on social media.
“I want to take a calm and deliberate approach to creating the game. My priority is making a game that I can be proud of for a long time. I’ve realised that his self-imposed pressure pushes me towards cutting content or creating less detailed environments, and that’s not what I want,” they continued.
“For this reason, I’m postponing the release to 2026. That said, if the game is ready before then, I will announce it. I just need to remove this constant pressure on myself.
“Thank you all so much for your understanding and support, and if you’re interested, please add the game to your wishlist.”

A sequel to Super Woden GP II, Super Woden Rally: Edge is a throwback to old-school rally games. It features a retro art style with a top-down viewpoint, fast-paced time attacks and an assortment of fictional vehicles inspired by iconic rally cars.
“My focus with Rally Edge is on capturing the excitement of rallying in an arcade style rather than simulating real-world events,” the developer recently told Traxion. “I also don’t intend to create a simulation. Rally Edge is an arcade rally game, built around a passion for automotive history and a satisfying driving experience.”
Incidentally, this is not the only indie racing game slated to launch this year that has suffered a delay. Last month, Funselektor announced that the off-road adventure game Over the Hill will now launch in 2026, rather than later this year.
