Spanish developer ViJuDa Games has unveiled its latest project, a new rally-themed game called Super Woden: Rally Edge.
Following on from its two-game Super Woden GP series, Rally Edge is set to focus solely on the world of rallying, with ViJuDa shifting away from Super Woden’s isometric viewpoint to a top-down camera angle, inspired by the Super Nintendo’s F-1 Grand Prix.
Barring the new perspective, Rally Edge appears to have much of the DNA that made the studio’s previous games a success, with retro visuals coupled to solid handling dynamics creating a satisfyingly arcadey experience.
So far, the developer has teased a lineup of recognisable rally cars, which although will be unlicensed, closely resemble rallying icons like the Lancia Stratos, Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak and Peugeot’s 205 T16 Group B contender.
ViJuDa, aka one-man development team Victor Justo Dacruz, has yet to reveal the game’s release date, but the game appears to be in an advanced state of development so stay tuned to his Twitter/X feed for more updates.
The game will initially release on PC via Steam with console versions yet to be announced. However, Super Woden GP was eventually released to PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, while Super Woden GP 2 will be released for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch on the 24th of July 2024, costing $12.99 / €12.99 / £10.99
