After 12 years, Real Racing 3 is reaching the end of the road.

Announced in a heartfelt social media post, the mobile racer is being delisted from the App Store and Google Play today (18th December). It will then remain playable until 19th March, 2026.

“The last twelve years have been a remarkable journey with all of you on Real Racing 3. Unfortunately, we’ve decided to retire from the race now,” a statement reads, adding that the decision was “an emotional one.”

From today, in-app purchases will be disabled, preventing players from buying packs with real money. Unspent currencies can still be used until 19th March, when the servers will be shut down, rendering the game unplayable.

Before then, a final update will add an Audi S1 e-tron quattro, 2023 Rimac Nevera and 1000 Gold points to all players “as a token of appreciation.” Those who already own both cars will receive additional gold points.

Those who have already downloaded the mobile racer can re-download it from the app library until 19th March.

First released in 2013, Real Racing 3 garnered a reputation for its console-quality graphics on mobiles, asynchronous multiplayer and an expansive roster of licensed cars.

Since then, it has been continually supported with live service updates, with the last patch adding the Audi S1 e-tron quattro and Radical RXC in October this year.

Real Racing 3 was originally developed by EA’s Firemonkeys. Following lay offs at the Australian studio in 2023, it was handed to EA’s Hyderabad studio in India to work on updates.

While a sequel was never formally announced, Real Racing 4 was reportedly in development but cancelled in 2019, according to a 2023 Kotaku Australia report via Eurogamer.

    1. Hi Tezmcc,

You might want to try SK26 on iOS. I’m actually a founder of the game, and checked in with Traxion to discover RR3 was closing and that our latest update hasn’t yet been reviewed by Traxion.

Hopefully they give it a thumbs up!
