Forza Horizon 6 was announced to great fanfare yesterday (24th September 2025), with its Japanese setting proving to be extremely popular with the racing game community.
Those hoping that Forza Horizon 5’s recent PlayStation 5 appearance would allow the concurrent release of Forza Horizon 6 on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S may be left disappointed, however.
In an official statement, developer Playground Games stated that “Forza Horizon 6 will launch first on Xbox Series X|S consoles and PC in 2026… With the excitement for this franchise on other platforms, we also have Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios working together to bring Forza Horizon 6 to PlayStation 5 post-launch.”
Fortunately, this statement suggests that Forza Horizon 6 will definitely appear on the PlayStation 5, but only after an undetermined period of Microsoft exclusivity.
Interestingly, this statement suggests that Playground will be working with beleaguered Forza Motorsport developer Turn10 Studios on porting FH6 to the PS5, emphasising the latter studio’s marginalised role within Microsoft after widely reported job losses.
More news on Forza Horizon 6 is expected ‘early next year’, so make sure to stay tuned to Traxion for all the updates.
Forza Horizon 6 will launch as a Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass title at launch
Subscribers to Microsoft’s game pass services will be able to play the game on launch day, too, with Playground Games saying “it will be included with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass at launch”.
Will Forza Horizon 6 appear on Xbox One and PlayStation 4?
No, Forza Horizon 6 will only appear on the Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5, as well as PC.
This makes Forza Horizon 6 the first Horizon title to not appear on Xbox One since the console’s inception in 2013.
