It has been 10 years since the pioneering Logitech G29/G290 sim racing wheel hit the market, and five since the G293. Soon, there could be a successor to these venerable devices, if a brief glimpse of a recent Assetto Corsa EVO development video is anything to go by.
Spotted inside the game’s Italian development studio as it showcased future updates, there’s a new-looking wheel base in use, with rounded edges and distinctive slats on the sides.
It looks unlike any other wheel base currently on sale, and affixed to its front is a Logitech-branded wheel – the ‘Logi’ G symbol clearly visible alongside the Xbox moniker.

This seems to be reminiscent of the recently launched Logitech RS Wheel Hub combined with the RS Round Wheel, but then attached to a new wheel base.
Below is a three-pedal set, also not currently part of the Logitech range (possibly old Fanatec devices), which at first glance seems to be less complex than the current range-topping Pro Racing Pedals.
This could hint at a new entry-to-mid level wheel and pedal set, with a quick release plus compatibility with the existing range of Logitech wheels, rims and hubs, launched in 2024.

Logitech’s current wheel range consists of the aging G29 and G293 at the bottom, and is topped by its first-ever direct drive device, the G Pro Racing Wheel.
That’s priced at around the £1000/$1000 range for the base and a wheel, with pedals extra.
The G293, for example, is around £380/$400 (before discounts) for a complete bundle, albeit gear driven and with no quick release.
This is key, as rivals such as Fanatec, Moza and Thrustmaster now offer direct drive wheel bundles for around this price level. Thrustmaster’s T598, for example, offers direct drive wheel and pedals with a quick release for a smidge more. Same too, for the Moza R3 bundle.
Meanwhile, the current entry-level Logitech products continue to stagger on with a gear-driven system. They provide plenty of force and detail, but also noisy operation and a ‘crunchy’ feedback effect in comparison to direct drive.
We’ll keep you updated if this device is formally confirmed.

The pedals are (very obviously) very old ClubSport Pedals v2 and nothing new from Logitech… 😉
Good spot!
