Yesterday, Codemasters confirmed that there won’t be a sequel to EA SPORTS WRC, with the firm “pausing development plans on future rally titles.”
To us, this feels a bit like the end of an era, with the Southam-based developer creating a glut of rally-based titles over the years, from 1991’s Paris to Dakar Rally to 2023’s aforementioned EA SPORTS WRC.
As a result, we thought we’d ask the question, “What’s your favourite Codemasters rally game?”, picking from a list of all the studio’s rally titles.
In terms of games that missed the Codemasters rally cut, we’ve excluded Fuel, a Codies-published off-road game set in a massive open world and TOCA Race Driver 3, which had some rally elements (as well as Nicky Grist on pacenotes!).
Dirt 5 and Dirt: Showdown were included, however, despite a lack of pure rally goodness, but made the grade thanks to having rally cars and some rally or rallycross-style environments.
So, what’s your favourite Codemasters rally game? Vote away and let us know!
