Nascent sim racing title Rennsport has been confirmed for a console release later this year, following a period of early access on PC.

Created by the upstart Competition Company in collaboration with Teyon, Rennsport was first unveiled way back in 2022 and has been evolving through closed betas, open betas and the aforementioned early access since then.

It features real-world racing cars (no road cars here) in classes such as LMDh and GT3, with a mix of actual and fictional circuits. For now, there is no AI racing or career, with the former at least confirmed for development. Online multiplayer races and leaderboards are already functional, with a ranking system.

When it arrives on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S later in 2025 (exact date TBC), the console version will be published by Nacon – better known for the likes of TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge, MXGP 24 and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown.

The console version will target 60fps, and will arrive simultaneously with the ‘version 1.0’ PC build. It will support cross-platform play and, thanks to an online profile and app, cross-platform progression.

Rennsport is aiming to be a simulator, so presently drives with a serious focus. Competitive esports competitions have already used the platform.

Currently, it is a free-to-play title, although this could change for the final release. Using Unreal Engine 5 graphics, console editions have been previously muted, but were only confirmed today as part of a Nacon showcase event.
