Good news EA Play subscribers, you will be able to play the latest Need for Speed release, Hot Pursuit Remastered, for no additional cost starting from later today.
It now means that all current-era Need for Speed titles are on the service, joining the likes of Need for Speed Rivals, the 2015 Need for Speed reboot and the most recent all-new title, Need for Speed Heat.
EA Play is a subscription service that provides access to a ‘vault’ of games produced by the Californian gaming giant. It’s available across PlayStation, Xbox and PC. Hot Pursuit Remastered will be playable as part of the membership across all of these platforms.
EA Play is also part of certain Xbox Game Pass tiers. Base-level console owners miss out, but those on the PC or Ultimate levels also gain access to EA Play titles. We’ve also updated our list of every racing game currently on the Microsoft service.
Hot Pursuit Remastered was released in November 2020, a mildly refreshed version of the game that originally released in 2010. It then received a 60 fps and 4K resolution patch, alongside a livery editor, for PS5 and Xbox Series X in February 2021.
In our review, Justin Towell said of the game:
“When the weapons are added to the mix, it makes for an involving and enjoyable experience and one that’s fun even if you’re not very good at controlling the car. So, my advice would be to check it out if you see it cheap.”
Well, provided you have an active subscription, how about no extra charge? If you’ve never played it upon the initial release, or haven’t tried it on beefier hardware yet, now is as good a time as any.
