A racing game will make up part of the PlayStation Plus Monthly Games collection in September, in the form of Need for Speed Heat.
The 2019 game is set in the fictional Palm City, with racers driving modified cars against the police – LT Frank Mercer to be precise – in an environment with a full day-to-night cycle. During the day, legal racing. By night, illegal racing.
Developed by Ghost Games, that studio is now focused on different projects as the next franchise entry will be created by Criterion Games having recently subsumed Codemasters Cheshire.
Heat will be available for all levels of PlayStation Plus subscribers. Plus is a requirement for online gameplay on PlayStation 4 and 5, so a significant portion of players will be able to add the title to their libraries for one month starting from 6th September 2022. and ending 3rd October.
A reminder, unlike the Extra and Premium tiers of Plus or Xbox Game Pass, so long as you have added the game to your library and have an active membership you can download and play Heat infinitely – while it will remove from the Monthly Games collection in October, it won’t be removed from your account.
It will be available alongside Granblue Fantasy: Versus and Toem. Will you be downloading Heat? Let us know in the comments below.
