When MXGP 24 was released last year, it was more than a bit rough around the edges.
Using the proprietary KT Engine from its developers – popularised by games such as TT Isle of Man: Ride on the Edge and Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown – it marked the beginning of a four-year licencing deal with MXGP promoters, Infront Moto Racing, running until 2028.
While creator Kylotonn and publisher Nacon work on other racing titles, such as Endurance Motorsport Series due for release later this year, news about a second MXGP title has been so far absent.
However, the silence doesn’t mean there won’t be further official FIM Motocross World Championship games from the French outfit.

“Of course, we still have the licence, no issue on that,” said Sébastien Waxin, Head of Racing / Motorsport at Nacon, to Traxion when asked in Paris this week.
“We were also not fully satisfied about the first game [MXGP 24], so we said, ‘okay, let’s take a short break, restart the game and come back with something stronger’.
“So this is what we are working on now, and that’s why we’re not talking too much about the MXGP licence.
“But don’t worry, it’s being worked on, and it will come back soon.”

This update is further confirmation that publisher and gaming accessory manufacturer Nacon is committed to the racing game genre.
KT is working on MXGP, continued Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown support, the aforementioned Endurance Motorsport Series and potentially other unannounced games, while Nacon is also acting as a publisher for Gear.Club Unlimited 3 and console publisher for Rennsport.
