Motorsport UK-backed UK FF1600 Esports Cup returns for 2024

The UK FF1600 Esports Cup is back for its sophomore season, acting as a feeder category for the Motorsport UK-sanctioned British F4 Esports Championship.

The UK FF1600 Esports Cup will once again as a feeder series to the official British F4 Esports Championship this year, with an iRacing-based time trial used to decide the grid.

Online qualifying runs from 09:00 BST on the 12th of August, to 23:59 BST on the 18th of August, and can be accessed through the Time Attack section on iRacing’s UI. Drivers can tackle Brands Hatch’s Grand Prix layout using a fixed set-up and can enter the prequalification process for free.

The top 25 will qualify for the championship, which visits the same venues as the F4 series; including Knockhill, Oulton Park and – new for 2024 – Zandvoort.

Drivers must be a paid Motorsport UK Esports member (£24.99 per 12 months) and contribute a £60 entry fee to participate in the championship. Full terms and conditions can be found on Motorsport UK’s Esports site, with the site eligible for non-professional esports drivers only.

The UK FF1600 Esports Cup uses iRacing’s Ray FF1600 car – mimicking a class Formula Ford single-seater – with the series designed as a showcase for young up-and-coming sim racing talent. As proof of concept, the top two from last season’s championship, Henry Moore and Dan Amor, have been picked up this year by professional F4 Esports teams Guild Esports and Apex Racing Academy respectively.

Every double-header round will be broadcast live on iRacing’s YouTube, Facebook and Twitch channels, with prizes and entry lists to be announced shortly. More information can be found via the Motorsport UK Discord server.
