The Grave Digger Legacy DLC pack is out now for Milestone’s Monster Jam Showdown, adding three versions of the iconic monster truck based on popular models from 2007, 2012 and 2022.
Grave Digger is perhaps the planet’s best-known series of monster trucks alongside Bigfoot, featuring a distinctive green and black livery.
Originally built in 1982 by Dennis Anderson from salvaged parts, Grave Digger was originally conceived as a mud racing truck. But after filling in as a car-crushing monster truck at one event it soon switched disciplines.
The name arrived due to Anderson’s response to trash-talking competitors: “I’ll take this old junk and dig you a grave with it.” Charming.
Grave Digger’s subsequent iterations quickly gained popularity thanks to Anderson’s aggressive driving and never-say-die attitude, becoming a household name in North America where monster truck racing was televised.
Anderson eventually retired from driving in 2017, but his legacy continues through his sons Adam, Weston and his daughter Krysten, with the Andersons claiming multiple Monster Jam championships.
30th and 25th Anniversary Grave Digger trucks have been added to Showdown, evoking liveries from 2012 and 2007 respectively, with the 2022 Encore model harking back to the original Grave Digger of 1982. All trucks also feature three extra paint schemes.
The Grave Digger Legacy DLC is included with the Monster Jam Showdown Season Pass, or available separately for $4.99 / £3.99.
