Each year, there’s a new Monster Energy Supercross game, and each year it comes with an open-world appendage to sit alongside the real-world venues.
This time around, it’s entitled the Supercross Park, and there does seem to be a concerted effort by developer Milestone to liven up the environment and provide a greater incentive to spend time within it.
The location will be split into five distinct regions: The Peak, Airport, Quarry, Stadium and FanFest.
The latter includes dedicated missions and personal coaching by seven-time champion Jeremy McGrath.
In the past, some of these environments have been a bit dowdy, and lacking in activities – the one in 2021’s Monster Energy Supercross 4 springs to mind. But last year’s instalment had enhanced visuals, a more colourful area and SHAPE letters to collect.
We’re yet to get hands-on with Supercross 6, but our first impressions are that Supercross Park adds a sense of occasion missing in previous iterations. In fact, friend of Traxion.GG, ROBO46 has tested a preview build, and you can watch his impressions below.
Monster Energy Supercross 6 launches on 9th March 2023 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S. It will also feature a career mode, ranked cross-platform multiplayer, rider customisation options and a Track Editor.
