Le Mans Ultimate V1.2 patch notes released as new engineer mode-enabled driver swaps unveiled
  • LMU’s v1.2 update releases 9th December 2025, alongside second part of ELMS DLC
  • New driver swap Special Events announced, using LMU’s new engineer mode
  • Host of car and track updates coming in v1.2

Le Mans Ultimate’s latest update is out tomorrow (9th December 2025), with Motorsport Games duly revealing the extent of the changes players can expect.

As well as a comprehensive v1.2 patch, the second part of the game’s trilogy of European Le Mans Series DLC will be released, including the Ginetta G61-LT-P325-Evo LMP3 car and Circuit Paul Ricard, costing £8.99 / €9.99 / $11.99.

We’ve already covered the bulk of the expected changes in a previous article, but we’ll run through some other improvements below.

Online

Online, players will be able to tackle team-based championships, the basis of which will be used for Le Mans Virtual Open Qualifying, perhaps a precursor to the resumption of the Le Mans Virtual Series. More information on LMVOQ will be presented in January.

New driver swap events

New driver swap events have been scheduled, this time with v1.2’s engineer mode enabled. Engineer mode lets a second player adjust pit strategy on the fly during online events, allowing the driver to solely focus on the race (this extends to solo as well as team-based events).

The new events are listed below:

Car and track updates

Every track in LMU has had its Real Road profile updated for v1.2, with AI behaviour tweaks coming for Silverstone, Portimāo and Monza.

More significantly, the ELMS-spec Oreca 07 LMP2+ has had its default aero packages changed to high downforce for Spa, Fuji and Bahrain, while the car will run with the medium downforce kit around Monza.

There are also a whole host of minor bug fixes for the game’s car roster, with the Mercedes-AMG GT3 and Aston Martin Valkyrie Hypercar receiving fixes for random rear brake failures.

The developer has also ‘revised rear wing damage thresholds’, perhaps making LMU’s cars a little more resilient to rear-end contact.

The recently added Ligier JS P325 LMP3 has had its tyre physics tweaked for v1.2, which also includes updated default setups and traction control maps. The car’s external overrun and shifting sounds have also been adjusted, with brake disc glow now fully implemented.
