Details on F1 24’s next update have been unveiled today (13th September 2024), with the game finally receiving this season’s new Formula 2 cars.
The Season 3 update also sees the return of Elimination Mode, the introduction of Ayrton Senna-themed events and visual refreshes of all of 2024’s Formula 1 cars to reflect their latest upgrade packages.
Formula 2 in F1 24
Season 3 of F1 24 begins on the 18th of September, with the latest F2 cars undoubtedly the stars of the show. Featuring a new Dallara chassis and revised Mecachrome V6 engines, this year’s F2 cars follow a similar design strategy to their F1 brethren, focusing on ground-effect aerodynamics to help improve the racing spectacle.
The F1 24 update will contain all of F2’s latest teams and drivers, including the two main championship protagonists, Isack Hadjar and Gabriel Bortoleto, as well as 2024 F1 supersubs Franco Colapinto and Ollie Bearman.
Ollie Bearman Race Scenario
Speaking of Bearman, a new Race Scenario will be made available in Season 3, seeing players tasked with re-enacting the Englishman’s fantastic debut Ferrari drive in Saudi Arabia, after being drafted in to replace the unwell Carlos Sainz.
The Race Scenario will be available between the 18th of September and the 13th of October, giving players a chance to unlock Bearman’s one-off helmet design. It’s a timely announcement given Bearman is set to sub for Kevin Magnussen in Azerbaijan this weekend.
F1 24 Elimination Mode
F1 World’s Elimination Mode returns, where the driver in last place is removed from the race after every 30s. This is available exclusively with the new F2 cars in multiplayer.
F1 24’ Ayrton Senna Events Series
Part 2 of F1 24’s Season 3 playlist will feature a series of Ayrton Senna-themed events at Suzuka, Monaco, Silverstone, Hungaroring, Spa and Interlagos, with players treated to special challenges relating to significant moments in the three-time world champion’s career.
Exact details on what this entails will be revealed shortly, but what we do know is that the Brazilian’s signature events will begin on the 25th of October.
There are also Jack Doohan-themed Challenge Career and F2 Track Mastery events to tackle in Season 3, with a whole host of other bug fixes and improvements arriving in the accompanying update. Check out the changelog below for all the details.
