- JDM: Japanese Drift Master set to release on PS5 on 6th February
- PS5 release includes all post-launch updates from the PC and Xbox games
- Made in USA DLC will be available on launch day
Following its PC release in May 2025 and Xbox port last November, the upcoming PlayStation 5 port of JDM: Japanese Drift Master was given a Q1 2026 release window last year. Now, the open-world JDM racer has a firm release date.
Developer Gaming Factory has confirmed that JDM: Japanese Drift Master is heading to PS5 on 6th February – just over four weeks from now. On PS5, it will cost $34.99, with pricing for the UK and Europe yet to be confirmed.
The PS5 version will feature all content released since the Steam launch last May, including a photo mode, new cars such as the Honda NSX NA1 and Subaru Impreza GV STI, and Eurobeat music tracks.
Featuring six unlicensed vehicles inspired by American muscle cars, the recently released Made in USA DLC pack will also be available on PS5 at launch for $5.99.

JDM: Japanese Drift Master centres on Touma, a young rookie who joins a local street racer gang, with a lengthy story mode told through manga-style cut scenes. Players can explore and race in a fictional, Japan-inspired open-world filled with twisty mountain roads, narrow city streets and picturesque villages, all rendered in Unreal Engine 5.
Its car roster features a mix of fictional and licensed cars from Japanese manufacturers, including the Mazda RX-7, Nissan Fairlady Z and Subaru Impreza WRX STI, with a suite of customisation options.
Strangely, the Xbox version isn’t compatible with steering wheels. It’s not known if this will also be the case for the PS5 game.
When we reviewed the PC version last year, the open-world racer felt incomplete, hampered by its barren open world and poor AI. Since then, the developer has added new side events, rebalanced the difficulty and improved the performance and load times, so it could be worth revisiting on PS5.
Incidentally, JDM: Japanese Drift Master will launch on PS5 the same day as Carmageddon Rogue Shift and a few weeks earlier than Tokyo Xtreme Racer’s PS5 port, which is set to release on 26th February.
It’s not the only open-world racer set in Japan slated for Sony’s console either, as Forza Horizon 6 is set to arrive on PS5 sometime after the PC and Xbox versions, which have a 2026 release window.
