Nearly 10 years since the last main series entry and 19 years since the controversial original, the Carmageddon reboot now has a firm release date.
Carmageddon: Rogue Shift will be released on 6th February 2026 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game has been confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, although the release date is not yet clear.
This new instalment is being developed by the Italian team 34BigThings, previous creators of the Redout anti-gravity racers.

It will feature 15 unlockable vehicles, which promise distinct attributes, customisable with a claimed 13 weapon classes and over 80 ‘perks’.
Paths (read track) are said to be ‘randomly generated’ with ‘dynamic’ difficulty. Therefore, as each campaign run is different, along a branching map of events (including bosses) without restarts, this is classified as ‘Roguelite’, with “certain permanent bonuses” retained.
