iRacing’s Season 1 2025 update, revealed in November 2024, saw a huge amount of new cars and tracks added to the service, including big-hitters like the Ferrari 499P, Thruxton, the BMW M2 CS Racing and the new generation vehicles used in Australia’s Supercar series.
Season 2 is a little light on content in comparison, with the full lineup revealed in a huge blog post today (19th February 2025).

iRacing Season 2 2025 new cars
New ARCA Menards Series cars
The cars used in the fourth tier of NASCAR racing, the ARCA Menards Series, will be released as part of iRacing’s Season 2 content drop.
These stock cars come in Chevrolet, Ford and Toyota variants in the real world, using an older-generation NASCAR chassis (all three brands are set for iRacing). New bodies are then placed over the top and an Ilmor 396 control engine is placed under the hood.
The story of these cars and iRacing is a long one. The current ARCA cars available for the simulation were launched in 2009 (then as a Nationwide Class B Impala, before being repurposed for ARCA a couple of years later) and are outdated compared to what the real-world competition now uses.
Coincidentally, in 2023, iRacing accidentally gave that ARCA car a power boost, thus acting like a NASCAR Cup Series Gen 4 – but we’ll try not to get bogged down in that.

What you need to know is that the current ARCA Chevrolet Impala has been superseded, and so iRacing is making new models from the ground up. This series will also be in the upcoming NASCAR 25 video game, under iRacing’s stewardship, so this new model should be used across both titles.
As it’s a ground-up build, with fresh physics, the existing car will be removed from the in-sim series, and credits will be issued on a sliding scale to anyone who purchased the old model within a year of the new one being released.

Legends Ford 34c
One of the mainstays of iRacing’s entry-level car lineup (featured image), the Legends Coupe will be getting a long-awaited revamp for Season 2. Fortunately, it will still be free content for all subscribers and will feature the most up-to-date visuals and physics advancements.
iRacing Season 2 2025 new tracks
Portland International Raceway
Portland is the only new track scheduled for release with iRacing’s Season 2 2025 build, but it’s a cracker. Used in IndyCar, Portland has multiple configurations and features copious amounts of grassy run-off, so one mistake could spell disaster.
This is no more apparent than at the fearsome Turns 10 and 11 chicane, where many an international star has come a cropper. This will also showcase iRacing’s impressive three-dimensional kerbs, but more on that later.

iRacing Season 2 2025 new features
Expanded 3D kerb support
iRacing will roll out more support for its more accurate and better-looking three-dimensional kerb surfaces. Jerez, Aragon, Sandown, VIR, Winton, Rudskogen, and Hockenheim. Barcelona and Road America will receive the new tech in Season 2.
Phase 2 Debris Refresh
The debris refresh, introduced in 2025’s Season 1 build, is also being overhauled, with improved rendering and modelling expected alongside localised track debris warning flags, which could well lead to road course yellow flag appearances in future…

Improved GTP and LMP2 tyre behaviour
This is part 1 of a two-part process where iRacing addresses the complaints surrounding its GTP-class cars and the Dallara LMP2. Many iRacing players suggested that both vehicle classes exhibited unrealistic tyre behaviour, with the hybrid systems on GTPs unrealistic in their implementation.
Creditably, iRacing has resolved to fix these problems starting with tyres, resulting in a ‘comprehensive reconstruction of the physical tyres and compositions’. iRacing has made the changes using new real-world data, with hybrid systems receiving special attention in the second part of the update coming in Season 3.

Connection flag system
The connection flag system will detect when an iRacer’s connection strength is poor and automatically relegate them to pit road until the situation improves. This should help prevent immersion-breaking and race-ruining instances of cars ‘blinking’ on track.
New lighting model
Although not quite rubber stamped for Season 2, a revised lighting model for iRacing is being worked on in the background alongside a whole new renderer and sky model.
The New Graphics Engine is some way off, but iRacing will still at least receive some visual upgrades at some point in the near future.

NASCAR track refreshes
Art, trackside items and accuracy enhancements among several of iRacing’s existing track lineup have been underway for over a year now.

For Season 2 2025, more of these changes are set to roll out, in particular to venues on the NASCAR calendar.
Bristol, Darlington, Dover, Homestead, Kansas, Vegas, and Iowa (repave) are all said to be “nearly done”, with “many” arriving with Season 2 as a free update for existing track owners.
Which exactly arrive next month is yet to be confirmed, but images of both Bristol and Homestead have been published by iRacing.

iRacing 2025 Season 2 content release date
