iRacing Fanatec GT Challenge - Porsche GT3R Montreal track guide Season 3 2021 Week 12 | Dave Cam

Week 12 marks the final Dave Cam track guide for iRacing 2021 Season 3. The Fanatec GT Challenge takes the series to Montreal where some of these fixed setup drivers are looking to wrap up a season-long championship. I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this already, but Dave is pretty good at holding a steering wheel. He’s an excellent teacher as well.

Not that there was ever any doubt, but I just checked the overall standings for this series on the iRacing member site. In the top division, which includes the top rated drivers on the road license, Dave is ranked seventh overall at this point in the season. The slow, methodical approach is a proven winner. Seriously, take notes, folks.

This final week, the series heads to the north of the Americas into a Canadian wonderland. Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is a 4.361-kilometer, 2.71-mile venue in Montreal, Quebec. The circuit has 14 turns, multiple passing zones and one Wall of Champions. There have been a number of Formula 1, NASCAR Xfinity, Champ Car and Sportscar races in the history of the track, but things have been on hold for a few years due to the pandemic.

Thankfully, pandemics don’t close down tracks in sim racing, so Circuit Gilles Villeneuve is open for virtual business all year round on iRacing. Dave has all the adjustable settings, braking points, visual cues and driving lines to learn around the circuit.

Be sure to check out the rest of Dave Cam’s Traxion.GG content. He’s got a whole season’s worth of track guides in this particular Porsche 911 GT3 R, plus a cool trek up the side of the Mt. Washington Auto Road. If you’re watching us on YouTube, make sure to hit subscribe, ring the bell, drop a like, and leave a comment.
