Up until now there’s only been a placeholder with a Mexican-themed background and the Forza Horizon 5 logo, but as part of the Xbox stream at a virtual gamescom 2021, the final cover art for Forza Horizon 5 has been revealed.
It features the Mercedes-AMG One Forza Edition and two Ford Bronco Badlands – one in grey, the other in bright yellow. Both cars have been heavily featured in the run-up to the game’s launch, which is on 9th November 2021.
The highlight the design, a trailer was published showing the two disparate cars in action. We suspect the Mercedes will be best suited to tearing up the longest highway in Forza Horizon series, while the Ford climbing the volcano – the highest point on the Forza Horizon 5 map.
Of course, while this game is available as a physical copy – for prosperity as Microsoft has a habit of delisting Forza games after a few years – in a sign of the times, this art theme is not yet visible set inside an Xbox game case.
In addition, the ‘Initial Drive’ gameplay trailer for the game showcases the opening segment of the game. What you see here is the first thing you’ll play in Forza Horizon 5.
Forza Horizon 4 also had a similarly bombastic intro which will showcase the vast map, distinct biomes and car variety. In FH5, you start off in said Bronco in the back of a plane, before being dropped onto the volcano.
After traversing this area, you then switch to the Chevrolet Covette C8 on a road, followed by the 1989 Rothsport Porsche 911 Type 964 Desert Flyer through a wet and leafy location, before finishing off in the AMG hypercar near the desert.
Now all that remains is the two-and-a-bit-month wait for us to try it oursevles.
