Three types for racing cars await you in this week’s GT Sport Daily Races

GT Sport Daily Races 1st February 2021

Time flies, especially when you’re in lockdown. Weekends and evenings all seem to merge into one. So, it’s almost surprising that we find ourselves at another Monday, and that, of course, means new Daily Races within GT Sport. Here’s what’s on the menu starting 1st February 2021.

GT Sport Daily Races 1st February 2021

Race A this week sees one of our favourite cars in the game, the Mazda Roadster Touring Car. Yes, speed is not an asset, but the small proportions and linear handling create close racing. Also, pop-up headlights. Combining with the Mazda is the KYOTO DRIVING PARK – MIYABI (all caps, not sure why) circuit. A simple affair with only one major braking zone, this will make for tense slipstream battles. The tyres of choice are Sports Medium, there is a grid start and you will battle over eight laps against 11 rivals.

Stepping things up a notch is Race B, which this week utilises any Gr.4 car in your garage around the tight and twisty Tsukuba Circuit near Tokyo. A staple of the Gran Turismo games, it suits slow road cars the best usually, recreating a Best Motoring episode. This time though, 16 Gr. 4 cars on Racing Medium tyres from a rolling start may mean a lot of argy-bargy over the eight-lap distance. We’ll take the Subaru for this one, thanks.

Finally, we reach Race C, or as we like to call it, ‘the big one’. The official name of the track is Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit, but you may know it as either Bathurst or ‘massive-pain-in-the-backside’. I enjoy the challenge, personally, but I know many do not! Gr.3 vehicles will mean enough power to blast down Conrod Straight, just don’t forget to brake at the end of it. In a twist, tyre wear is set to 7x strength, and you can choose Racing Soft or Racing Medium tyres for a bit of added strategy. 20 cars in total take a rolling start for nine laps around this iconic venue.
