Gravity Chase coming to Steam and Xbox January 2022

Repixel8, the one-man development team behind the likes of Formula Retro Racing and Velocity G, has announced details of a further racing game set for release in January 2022.

Gravity Chase is a futuristic racing game with hints of the classic PlayStation Wipeout series, featuring anti-gravity vehicle combat, three game modes and 16 tracks. Taking a little inspiration from Nintendo’s F-Zero series too, Gravity Chase also has four-player split-screen local multiplayer, Eliminator races to rival F-Zero’s classic Death Race, and the kind of pipe and tunnel style tracks that make racing fast, frenetic and claustrophobic all at the same time.

Repixel8 consists of Director Andrew Jeffreys, and Gravity Chase will be his third retro-inspired racing title in recent history – coming off the back of Formula Retro Racing in 2020, and Velocity G in 2019. All titles so far have placed an emphasis on speed and intuitive controls, with Formula Retro Racing in particular coming in for some high praise across the gaming press.

If this upward trend continues, we will be looking forward to sampling Gravity Chase ahead of its release early next year. We do enjoy a retro-themed racer here at Traxion!
