Gran Turismo 7’s January 2026 update: Everything you need to know

Gran Turismo 7 starts 2026 with new events, an Extra Menu and three new cars – two of which are race-bred machines.

Gran Turismo 7’s January 2026 update Everything you need to know

Gran Turismo 7’s first post-Spec III update arrives on Thursday, 29th January 2026, with three new cars, fresh events and, likely, some further tweaks.

We’ll keep this article updated as the information drips through, but following the teaser last week, we have car model and new event confirmation.

Three new cars

  • Hyundai ELANTRA N TC ’24
  • Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) ’22
  • Xiaomi SU7 Ultra ’25

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is an electric saloon, but not just any electric saloon. It will mark the first Chinese car brand ever in Gran Turismo. It is also a Nürburgring Nordschleife lap record holder for EV executive cars, thanks in part to 1548ps and double-wishbone front suspension.

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Gran Turismo 7

It was first confirmed for Gran Turismo 7 last year at the London round of the Gran Turismo World Series, and will debut in-game with Update 1.67.

It will arrive alongside another car shown at a World Series event first, the Hyundai Elantra N TC (R). This is a real-world touring car motorsport machine, made to the TRC ruleset – although just labelled as ‘TC’ in Gran Turismo 7. Front-wheel drive, turbocharged, we’d guess Gr.4 categorisation.

It’s not the only newer real-world racing car in this update either, as the Porsche 911 GT3 R makes a long-awaited debut. The Gr.3 presently is the mid-engined RSR from nine years ago, so now there’s the current GT3-spec machine. Except, it’s not the very latest ‘evo’ specification seen elsewhere, but beggars can’t be choosers for free updates…

Xiaomi Time Trial

Xiaomi SU7 Ultra Gran Turismo 7 Lap Time Challenge

A new supplementary Online Lap Time Challenge has been confirmed by Xiaomi to launch at the same time as the game update.

Using the SU7 Ultra, it will be paired with the high-speed Monza venue. As per regular Sport Mode Time Trials, there will be a limited-time entry period, and up to two million in-game credits to win, depending on your relative time.

Hyundai Extra Menu

Another Extra Manu will be added – this is a brief collection bonus. Own three specific cars and earn a reward.

This time, for those who are above Collector Level 58, you can then claim a reward for owning the following:

Extra Menu No. 52, Collection: Hyundai N

  • Hyundai ELANTRA N ‘23
  • Hyundai IONIQ-5 N ‘24
  • Hyundai N 2025 Vision GT

Three single-player race events

We’ll update this with the race lengths and rewards once the update is live, but for now, the World Circuits section of the game will receive three more races to take part in:

  • World Touring Car 600 – Nürburgring Nordschleife
  • World Touring Car 700 – Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps
  • World Touring Car 800 – Mount Panorama Motor Racing Circuit

California Roadsides Scapes

More scape image locations, this time in California, will be added. That’s all we have to say…

Bug fixes, engine swaps and Power Pack changes?

The full patch notes will be published around the same time the update is downloading to consoles around the world, where we expect other additions and changes.

Will the Ferrari 296 GT3 have a different interior steering angle? Will there be tweaks to Power Pack difficulty? All will be revealed soon.
