Alongside the eagerly anticipated Spec III update, tomorrow (4th December) sees the release of Gran Turismo 7’s first paid DLC, the Power Pack. Ahead of its release tomorrow, Polyphony has revealed new details about the DLC.
First, there’s the price. Polyphony has confirmed the Power Pack will cost £24.99 / $29.99 / €29.99 on PS5, but won’t be available on PS4. Despite being paid DLC, access is restricted to players who haven’t progressed far in the campaign.
To access the DLC, you’ll need to complete Menu Book No. 9, “Championship: Tokyo Highway Parade.” Once completed, a sailing boat icon will appear on World Map, allowing access to the DLC.
50 new events
Headlining the DLC is the addition of 50 race events spread over 20 categories, from American Muscle Cars to GT One.
This also includes the return of 24-hour races, but it’s not clear how they will be structured. Perhaps they will pave the way for the return of B-Spec mode, allowing you to let the AI take control of cars during endurance races.

Each event mirrors real-world race weekends with practice and qualifying sessions before the main race. Rather than using cars from your garage, the car you drive is preselected in these events, offering different difficulty levels. For example, you’ll receive a greater prize reward if you select one with a lower PP.
On the track, you’ll be battling against rivals powered by Sophy 3.0, the latest version of Gran Turismo 7’s sophisticated AI agent that Polyphony says delivers the “most authentic AI behaviour to date.” Adding to the difficulty, race restarts will also be disabled.

Six “specially tuned” new cars
As a surprise bonus, the Power Pack includes six “specially tuned” cars, rewarded by collecting stars in race events:
- Ford Mustang 2015 American Racer
- Nissan Skyline GT-R GP-Tuned (KPGC10)
- Porsche 911 Turbo Rally (930)
- Toyota AE86 Levin D-Tuned
- Toyota Supra GT Road Car (JZA80)
- Volkswagen Beetle 1966 Desert Racer

These come in addition to the eight cars included in the free Spec III update, also releasing tomorrow:
- Ferrari 296 GT3 Gr.3 2023
- Ferrari 296 GTB 2022
- Fiat Panda 30 CL 1985 (first generation)
- Gran Turismo F3500-B – Fictional single-seater evoking 1990s Formula 1 cars

In a world where Rennsport and PMR both dissapoints hard. this will give me hours of fun on my PS5.
Why is it available in the ps4 version of the game and nowhere in the trailer for the DLC did it say that it was a PS5 exclusive DLC, if it’s on the PS4 main menu then that should let us have access to it
The PP is PS5 only bacuse PS4 cant handle Sophy 3.0.
