A second hotfix to start off the first season on the 2022 iRacing calendar dropped on Tuesday, only about a half of a day into the new season. While there were some issues that needed resolving that were broken during the latest build, Hotfix 2 mostly brings attention to the new cars just released.
With the Mercedes-AMG W12 E Performance, a number of issues with the MGU-K deployment settings for the Power Unit were looked at, usually pertaining to the starting state of the car and the mode deployed in certain scenarios. Other issues, such as the state of tire compounds flickering, have also hopefully been resolved.
In the Touring Car class, all three cars received an update in the hotfix, including the existing Audi RS and both of the new cars, the Honda Civic and Hyundai Elantra. Now the garages should be standardized between the three cars in the class in Fixed Setup events. The Civic Type R specifically went a little further and corrected the Engine Cooling, also updating setups in the process.
Keeping on the theme of new cars, the NEXT Gen NASCAR stock cars will likely continue to receive updates through the NASCAR offseason as the series ramps up for the 2022 season starting in February. NASCAR’s brand new car received a front ride height sensor update across all three manufacturers in this hotfix.
The full patch notes are listed below, thanks to the folks at iRacing for getting these squared away in a timely manner. The service is already back up and running, so let us know in the comments if you find anything else that might need iRacing’s attention.
