Forza Motorsport adds eight new cars in Update 18, including Lamborghini LMDh

Despite the factory reducing its efforts to a single IMSA entry, the Lamborghini SC63 appears in another game – this time Forza Motorsport.

Following a staggering nine cars last time out in February, this month’s ‘Update 18’ for Forza Motorsport sees a slightly more sensible eight new vehicles.

As ever, these will sit alongside themed single player, multiplayer and Rivals events across the following four weeks for PC and Xbox console players.

The update was released today, Monday 10th March 2025.

Eight new cars

Headlining the fresh roster additions is Lamborghini’s SC63, an LMDh/GTP race car that is becoming virtually ubiquitous.

It joins the likes of the BMW M Hybrid V8 (added in January) and the Cadillac V-Series.R, which has been included since day one.

For road car fans, the recent (2023) Porsche 911 (991) GT3 RS, the pinnacle of this range, has also been added – including its aggressive aero kit.

Next, the Koenigsegg One:1 is not new to the series, but this hypercar is new for this particular version for Forza Motorsport. The Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon, a crazy rare V8 estate, from 2014 has also been included.

Those are from the spotlight area, but more new cars can be unlocked in the Challenge Hub.

These are spearheaded by a couple of Lamborghini road cars. The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is a 2021 cynical rehash of the classic Countach, simply by rebodying an Aventador. But, the Lamborghini Revuelto is much more interesting, an all-new car signallying the start of a hybrid era for the brand.

There’s also a spruced up GT430 version of the Lotus Evora and a heavily modified Datsun 280Z by Forsberg Racing.

The curious case of the Oreca 07

We make that four new cars, although one of the spotlight vehicles will be the Oreca 07 LMP2 car in 2020 spec, with the #38 Performance Tech Motorsports livery. This is particularly confusing, as this car in a near-identical 2017-spec has already been available as part of the paid-for Car Pass DLC.

So, this is essential prior paid DLC, for free, with a different paint scheme. Confusing matters further, the official Forza website included an image of the existing 2017 car in the press material, not the 2020 – although look closely at the event thumbnail and you can spot it.

Forza Motorsport Oreca 07 2020

Consequently, we’re not counting this in the headline ‘eight’ new cars.

Fresh events

To go with the new metal, come new events.

In single player, there’s a new set of events to make up a Featured Tour, with the themes being: Lamborghini LMDh, Sebring LMP2, Production to GT and Extreme Speed.

Online, the Velocity Series has been added, which is a way of replicating (ish) FIA WEC and IMSA races, as they use the aforementioned LMDh/GTP race cars.

There’s also a limited time 12 Hours of Sebring ‘special event’ which will be at Sebring, but won’t be 12 hours in length.

The shiny Lamborghini Revuelto will be used in a Rivals challenge.

Matchmaking changes

Alongside the slew of cars and events come a slate of quality-of-life changes.

According to developer Turn 10 Studios, it has “improved” the matchmaking for featured multiplayer events, with the aim of having more heavily populated grids.

‘Short’ races in the same game mode have been increased in length from eight to 10 minutes, and those with select HDR screens should now see brighter results.
