Forza Motorsport’s first major update of 2025 has arrived, bringing an assortment of BMW road and race cars, along with new career and multiplayer events.
Available on PC and Xbox Series X|S, Forza Motorsport’s latest update is live. Update 16 sees Turn 10 kickstart the new year by celebrating BMW BMW, with two race cars making their Forza series debut alongside themed career and multiplayer events starting today (7th January).
New cars
As part of Forza Motorsport’s ‘BMW Month,’ Update 16 features an assortment of road and race cars from the German manufacturer’s history. The main highlight is the formidable 2023 BMW M Hybrid V8, which makes its Forza Motorsport debut.
Notably, the M Hybrid V8 marks BMW’s return to endurance racing for the first time since 1999, competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship (IMSA) and World Endurance Championship (WEC). In line with LMDh regulations, it packs a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 capped at 670hp, coupled with an electric motor providing an extra boost.
Specifically, the M Hybrid V8 featured in Forza Motorsport is the BMW M Team RLL’s #23 car that competed in the 2023 IMSA championship. To unlock it, you must complete 15 laps at Daytona International Speedway in the ‘Race to Le Mans with BMW M’ Rivals event, or it can be bought in the showroom.
While BMW’s prototype race car is playable in PC simulations like Le Mans Ultimate, iRacing and Automobilista 2, this is the first time you can drive it in a console racing game.
Also making its Forza series debut is the 2023 BMW M4 GT3, specifically the #96 car run by Turner Motorsports in the IMSA. BMW’s GT3 racer is unlocked by completing the new BMW Tour in career mode.
In addition to the M Hybrid V8, several BMWs returning from Forza Horizon 5 and previous Forza Motorsport games have been added to the showroom:
- 2020 Formula Drift #91 BMW M2
- 2010 BMW M6 Coupe
- 2009 BMW M5
- 2008 BMW M3
- 2003 BMW M5
While most of these cars have featured in Forza Horizon 5 or Forza Motorsport 7, the 2008 BMW M3 hasn’t appeared in a Forza game since 2007’s Forza Motorsport 2.
Spotlight cars and VIP discounts
As with most Forza Motorsport updates, a new batch of Spotlight and VIP cars can be purchased with in-game credits at a discount for a limited time.
Throughout BMW Month, five Spotlight cars will feature in the showroom with a 30 per cent discount, with one added per week. Meanwhile, Forza Motorsport VIP Members can get a 15% discount on selected cars over four weeks.

Along with the new cars, Update 16 adds a new ‘BMW Tour’ career event and a new Featured Multiplayer series. There are also a handful of improvements, including reworked audio for the 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 and 2002 Ferrari Enzo Ferrari.
Beyond BMW Month, Turn 10 has teased that February’s update will have a daily racers theme, “showcasing numerous modern cars that only show their true potential once unleashed onto the track.”
