Forgettable layouts: GT Sport Daily Races, w/c 11th October 2021

Hands up who remembered that that Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya was in GT Sport? Okay, how about Sardegna Road Track A II? I bet you can’t recite the track layout from memory.

Even our favourite venue has a forgettable layout in the form of East II. It’s not all that short and still excludes the cool banked hairpin.

My brain just cannot remember these layouts – even long division at school was more inspiring than these bland variants.

But, with 156 different Daily Races to concoct per year, at some point there was going to be a less-than-inspiring week. This is it. Here’s the ranked online playlist for the week commencing 11th October 2021

GT Sport Daily Races 11th October 2021

Let’s kicks things off with the least dull encounter this time around, with three laps of a fictional Italian venue in the very interesting Honda S660 kei roadster. Revving all the way to 8,000rpm and change, this track is a little too long for it to be a riot – but good fun nonetheless.

Honda S660 Lago Maggiore

I don’t have a problem with Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya Grand Prix Layout, it’s just that I don’t care for it either. I just end up picking Suzuka or Mount Panorama instead.

Four laps in Gr.4 machinery will at least provide a close race, with the Renaultsport Megane Trophy, Lamborghini Huracán and Subaru WRC all seemingly equally matched.

Jaguar F-Type Gr.4 Barcelona

The last, and therefore longest, race this week sees you in the rapid Gr.2 cars from Japan’s Super GT championship around a venue that I really struggled to remember. As someone who is regularly playing Gran Turismo, I could only remember one or two corners, relying on the track map for guidance. Oh dear.

Nissan Super GT Gr.2 Sardegna

Full details of each race are below, and the playlist will next reset on Monday 11th October 2021. Don’t forget to check out our analysis of the latest Gran Turismo 7 trailer as the game approaches its release early next year.
