Fanatec slashes Podium Racing Wheel F1 price

Are you looking for a PC and console-compatible direct drive sim racing wheel? Well, the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro and CSL DD will fit that bill.

Except, due to high demand and the ongoing semiconductor shortage, they are rarer than a total solar eclipse.

However, Fanatec does have a halfway-house remedy. The Podium Racing Wheel F1 with a price cut.

The wheel base outputs 20Nm of torque, four times more than the 5Nm of a basic, sans Boost Kit 180, DD Pro or CSL DD, and comes bundled with a Formula 1 licenced steering wheel.

It’s PlayStation and PC compatible out of the box, and if you purchase an Xbox-compatible wheel, works on the green machines too. For PS4 and PS5, we list it as the best device you can purchase, money no object.

Close to 30 per cent has been lopped off the price, which means, pre-import duty, it costs the following:

• $1,299.95 (previously £1,799.95) -28%
• €1,299.95 EUR (previously €1,799.95) -28%
• $1,999.95 AUD (previously $2,799.90 AUD) -29%

There’s also a bundle available with the wheel base, wheel and a set of the load cell Clubsport Pedals V3. This is now retailing for:

• $1,499.95 USD (previously $2,199.90) -32%
• €1,499.95 EUR (previously €2,199.90) -32%
• $2,299.95 AUD (previously $3,349.80 AUD) -31%

“For many, the Podium Racing wheel is not an alternative to the CSL DD or GT DD Pro but this is the best we can do for now and it is a big chance for anybody who considered an upgrade anyway,” explained a statement from Fanatec CEO Thomas Jackermeier.
