Fanatec launches flagship Podium DD 25Nm racing wheel base

Fanatec will replace its existing DD2 wheel base with an all-new Podium DD next year.

Fanatec launches flagship Podium DD 25Nm racing wheel base
  • New Fanatec Podium DD will be the brand’s range-topping wheel base
  • Set for a Q1 2026 launch with peak torque of 25Nm

The Fanatec racing wheel base range has a new figurehead – the Podium DD.

Sitting above the existing ClubSport DD and DD+, the new Podium device will output a ‘consistent’ 25 Nm of force, with an overshoot peak of 33 Nm. This is significantly more potent than the aforementioned models, with 12Nm and 15Nm, respectively.

This new unit will replace the ageing Podium Wheel Base DD2, which, while receiving a recent quick release (QR2) upgrade, was unveiled way back in 2018.

Despite outputting the same torque figure as its predecessor, this new model will feature a chassis similar to the ClubSport DD/DD+, which is more compact than the previous model. Unlike its more affordable siblings, here the body will be fully aluminium, instead of an aluminium and plastic mix.

Fanatec claims that the internals are upgraded, with an additional heatsink for, in Fanatec’s words, “optimised thermal management.” A 10cm shaft extension to assist with monitor mounting is included.

It will only be compatible with PC, or Xbox with an Xbox-specific wheel, but not PlayStation. The FullForce vibration system (low latency details) is included for the games that support it.

Like the newly announced Podium pedals, it is set for a Q1 2026 release and pricing information is not yet available.
