F1 Mobile Racing update 29 adds new car parts and upgraded car models

F1 Mobile Racing’s latest update refreshes the 2023 grid’s car models, adds the new Legendary rarity rating and showcases new events.
F1 Mobile Racing update 29 adds new car parts and upgraded car models 

F1 Mobile Racing – the iOS and Android-based Formula 1 racing game co-developed by Eden Games, Codemasters and Electronic Arts – has just received a new update today (21st August 2023), and it adds a whole raft of updates to the officially licenced racing game. 

Car updates 

The F1 Mobile Racing development team has been hard at work updating the look of the game’s cars to match their real-world counterparts. Given teams constantly upgrade and change the appearance of their cars’ aerodynamic packages throughout the season, this is a necessary update. 

This has also extended to each car’s cockpits, with all 10 F1 teams’ steering wheel set-ups refreshed; including Williams’ unique dash-mounted screens. 

Legendary rarity level 

A new Legendary rarity level has been added to the game, offering a stats boost to three areas of car performance as opposed to the previous maximum of two.

New events 

F1 Mobile Racing is set to hold a series of hot lap Summer Break Special Events which will be ’themed around specific teams and engine suppliers and some of our favourite circuits’. Details have yet to be announced on these, so keep checking F1 Mobile Racing’s socials for more information. 

A new Daniel Ricciardo Showdown event is available now too, where you assume the role of AlphaTauri team-mate to the affable Aussie, aiming to win his 2023 helmet and driver cards. 

F1 Mobile Racing, Update 29

The Daniel Ricciardo Showdown is available from League 6, and will remain active until September 9th. Players who own Nyck De Vries’ driver card will be allowed to keep them following his replacement by Ricciardo.

F1 Mobile Racing Update 29 changelog 

General Fixes: 

  • Fixed the issue where the McLaren 60th Anniversary livery would appear black on some Android devices. 
  • Fixed an issue where the white livery would appear black on some Android devices. 
  • Fixed the issue where the driver’s gloves would appear white and have incorrect texture. 
  • Improved sponsors’ textures on some of the official car’s halo where previously were very blurry. 
  • Fixed rare issue where the grass, gravel, and sand textures would remain on the tyres for the entire race.   
  • Fixed an issue where the end-of-event rewards animation would not be correctly shown.  
  • Fixed issue where “Beat [X] time to unlock next GP” was not present in Hotlap events. 
  • Fixed rare issue where players could become soft-locked when ending a career race, forcing them to retry.  
  • Fixed an issue where a player could not continue an already started event after loading their save via cloud save functionality. 
  • Fixed poor FPS performance issue when selecting the player’s age on specific devices.  
  • Fixed an issue where the slipstream effect would not be activated correctly shortly after starting the race.  
  • Fixed the issue where the Grand Prix™ join button is greyed out until the player leaves and re-enters the event screen. 
  • Fixed the issue where if a player lost their first race during onboarding, their win ratio would never progress past 0%. 
  • Fixed missing link to Privacy and Cookie Policy in the Usage Sharing pop-up.  

Challenges: 

  • Fixed the progress counter for numerous challenges so they are showing the correct variable.  
  • Fixed issue where specific event-related challenges were not progressing correctly. 
  • Fixed an issue where a player could experience poor FPS performance when claiming a completed challenge reward. 
  • Fixed an issue where the “Sign contract step [X]” challenge did not work retroactively.  
  • Fixed an issue where the “Reach Pro League division [X]” challenge did not work retroactively.  
  • Fixed issue where “Collect [X] parts challenge” would progress incorrectly. 
  • Fixed issue where specific challenges would not progress for currency & parts earned from end-of-event rewards. 
  • Fixed issue where the “Collect [X] Parts” challenge progression would not be saved correctly after the player reboots if the chassis parts were earned through a Career Mode mission reward. 
  • Fixed the issue where the “first step” tab under challenges would not disappear after the player had completed all the challenges within it.     

Career Mode: 

  • Fixed issue where the “Contract overview” progress would be displayed incorrectly even if the player meets the requisite to unlock it. 
  • Fixed an issue where the Career Mode team mission “Receive no penalty for 14 races” would not progress correctly.  
  • Fixed the issue where the “An error occurred while saving your progression” pop-up message would appear when the player tries to rejoin a Career Mode race after closing the game.  

Circuit Improvements: 

  • Autodromo Nazionale Monza; fixed issue with DRS zone 2 placement. 
  • Bahrain International Circuit; improved lighting for lower-quality devices. 
  • Silverstone Circuit; fixed glare effect on specific sponsor board. 
  • Circuit de Monaco; fixed floating crowd.     

Additional Improvements: 

  • Added a “controls settings” tutorial to the onboarding process. 
  • Added a “racing line” tutorial to the onboarding process. 
  • Improved performance on Samsung S22 Ultra device.  
  • Added “New Event Available” UI element above the play button when the player has an event available that they haven’t joined. 
  • Added a timer to the event rewards screen showing the remaining time until the event ends. 
  • Changed the short-time loaned car from Williams to McLaren. 
  • Replaced all references of “League 0” with “Pro League”.
