During the early release window for the Champions Edition, it has not been possible to play the game on the portable device – that should have now changed.
F1 23 should now be working on Steam Deck

This follows a new game update released today, 14th June 2023, which “resolved an issue with players running F1 23 on Steam Deck.”

This is accorded to the F1 23 changelog on the Electronic Arts support forum. For those who purchased the Champions Edition, available since yesterday (13th), and tried it on Valve’s device, they were greeted with the following message:

“Running in Steam Deck is currently not supported.”

This is only a small update, or hotfix, for now, ahead of presumably a larger update at a later date. There’s only one other change, that of ‘realigned’ throttle application. The full changelog is below and we’ll keep you updated when further patches land.

F1 23, 14.06.23 update changelog

  • Realigned throttle application in F1 World, My Team Career and Driver Career modes.
  • Resolved an issue with players running F1 23 on Steam Deck
