F1 23 game update adds clouds, fixes Podium Pass

Good news PlayStation 5 players of EA SPORTS F1 23, the v1.12 game update released today (18th September 2023) has re-added clouds.

Good, no we’ve covered that much-requested tweak, perhaps more pertinently the limited-run Ferrari livery for the recent Italian Grand Prix, celebrating a 24 Hours of Le Mans victory, has now been reverted back to the decidedly less yellow design.

Another critical element is a fix for the seemingly missing items in the second season of Podium Pass. We noticed this way back in the middle of last month, and with the unlockable item system intrinsically linked to F1 World progression, thought it was odd that such an essential element lacked visual and descriptive clues.

It’s now fixed according to the changelog, but almost certainly later than we would have liked and on our quick PS5 test this morning, still not fully fixed.

Those who use a HORI steering wheel should now be able to feel force feedback, and those on Xbox who struggled with Thrustmaster devices should now be up and running thanks not to this game update, but a system firmware update for the console. Those not experiencing TruForce via a Logitech device on Xbox sadly remain in a state of flux.

The full changelog is below, and we expect an Alex Albon Pro challenge to appear in the game from the 19th, which will hopefully include the Williams team’s Gulf livery design.
