This month’s Gran Turismo 7 update is now live and it adds four new cars, revises vehicle dynamics and delivers further races to compete across.
It does not, however, add a further circuit or dramatically improve online lobby stability.
1.25 is available from today, 20th October, and weighs in at 1.06GB on PlayStation 4 and 1.648GB on PlayStation 5. Here’s what you need to know.
What is October’s Update 1.25 for Gran Turismo 7?
Update 1.25 is a free game patch for Gran Turismo 7, that follows the continued post-release support plan set by Polyphony Digital to release a significant set of changes each month.
The Café Menu Book system is the game’s main career mode, of sorts, and with today’s update has been expanded with a 46th chapter, provided you have reached Collector Level 29.
- Menu Book No. 46: ‘Historic Sports Car Masters’
This features cars such as the new Maserati Merak, Ferrari and Lamborghinis. Any car that is below 580 PP and produced between 1960 and 1989 is allowed.
The following three events have been added to World Circuits as part of this new book.
- Goodwood Motor Circuit, five laps, maximum reward 55,000 credits
- Nürburgring Nordschleife, one lap, maximum reward 60,000 credits
- Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, three laps, maximum reward 55,000 credits
Completing these three races on the podium will net you the following prize:
- Four-star Roulette Ticket
Four new cars
We’ve covered these in-depth previously, but below you will find where to purchase each, how much they cost and their PP values.
- Maserati Merak SS ’80 – Legend Cars – 422.29 PP – 75,000 credits
- Mazda Roadster NR-A (ND) ’22 – Brand Central – 421.56 PP – 31,000 credits
- Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 ’18 Gr.3 – Brand Central – 723.14 PP – 600,000 credits
- Nissan Skyline 2000GT-R (KPGC110) ’73 – Legend Cars – 386.53 PP – 542,000 credits
Of note, the 1973 Nissan Skyline is not cheap, but in the real-world, it was incredibly scarce, with production only lasting four months. The second Nissan Gr.3 entry is also 150,000 more credits than the existing, older specification, equivalent.
The new Roadster (read MX-5) is very similar to the existing model in the game, but features racing-modified elements such as a roll cage. It’s available with, or without, the racing livery.

Revised driving physics
Potentially the biggest change with Gran Turismo 7 1.25 update is a tweak to how cars perform. Following its release, developers Polyphony Digital toned down the one-edge driving characteristics of many road cars, we’ll see after further testing if the following revisions deliver a similarly dramatic difference.
- Adjusted the simulation for tyre heat generation and wear ratio;
- Adjusted the suspension geometry for each car;
- Adjusted the initial values for suspension parts;
- Adjusted the initial values for the Differential Gear (with ‘Fully Customisable LSD’ equipped) on certain cars;
- Adjusted the Performance Points (PP) of some cars;
- Changed the conditions for mechanical damage occurring from a collision or contact if ‘Mechanical Damage’ is set to ‘Light’ or Heavy’ in the Race Settings. As a result, cars are now less likely to sustain damage after hitting a track wall or other obstacles.
Minor tweaks
There is a suit of other changes, the full list of which is below. Of these, the following are the most significant:
- Mazda Spirit Racing GT Cup 2022 liveries available for the following Mazdas: Roadster NR-A (ND) ’22, Atenza Gr.4 and RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT
- Two new Scapes locations: Whitby (Yorkshire, UK) and a collection of ‘Autumn Leaves’
