Every Need for Speed fan’s wishes have been granted, with the announcement of a new game in the storied series: Need for Speed Unbound.

EA’s announcement came alongside a game trailer, giving us a quick look at what developer Criterion plans to bring to the Need for Speed (NFS) franchise.

And of course, in any game that focuses on racing, the cars are the stars, and the trailer offered gamers a sneaky peek at the cars they can expect to drift around the virtual streets of Lakeshore from the 2nd of December.

Cars previewed include:

  • Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II Cosworth
  • Ford Mustang BOSS 302 1969
  • Porsche 911 GT3 RS (992)
  • Nissan Silvia S14
  • Nissan GT-R NISMO
  • Mercedes-AMG G 63
  • Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX
  • Dodge Charger R/T 1969
  • Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
  • BMW M3 Evolution II (E30)
  • Lotus Emira

That’s a Lotus Emira, right?

EA has already released the full car list for Need for Speed Unbound, but one car seems to have been omitted. The Traxion team spotted a Lotus Emira drifting with a Corvette 13 seconds into the trailer. Could this be a hint towards some yet-to-be-announced content? Or perhaps I just need to visit an optician?

The game is also set to include unbranded police cars – modelled after Dodge Durango and Charger pursuit vehicles – a series staple for a number of years.

Did you spot any other cars in the Need for Speed Unbound trailer? Are there any you are particularly looking forward to driving? Let us know in the comments below.
