SCS Software has announced that the v1.51 Open Beta for Euro Truck Simulator 2 is available for plucky virtual truckers to try now.
Fresh off the back of American Truck Simulator’s v1.51 Open Beta announcement, SCS Software has followed up similarly with its Euro counterpart, with a host UI tweaks set to smooth out menu navigation.
In terms of map updates, the Czech studio’s drive to facelift every in-game environment continues apace, with the Germany Rework project receiving updates to the cities of Bremen, Kassel, Osnabrück and Magdeburg.
Each city has been rebuilt from scratch and will feature updated landmarks and more realistically implemented local industries for hauliers to embrace.
Additionally, a total of 41 cities have received custom city intros across the ‘Italia’ and ‘Beyond the Baltic Sea’ paid-for DLC packs, adding a touch of scene-setting to virtual drivers’ careers.
In terms of UI improvements, a search bar has been added in the settings menu to help players find what they are looking for quicker and it’s now easier to change your desktop background via the main menu (as opposed to a hidden away sub-menu).
ETS 2 players can access the open beta by right-clicking on the game icon in their Steam Library, selecting ‘Properties’, then ‘Betas’ followed by the ‘1.51’ option.
