American Truck Simulator’s 1.51 open beta adds new roads, vegetation and more

SCS Software has released American Truck Simulator’s 1.51 update as a publicly available open beta.

With it comes a host of improvements, plus some additional content, for virtual hauliers.

Changes to the aesthetics include a brand new title screen at launch, and in Texas, enhanced vegetation including loblolly pine trees. Oregon DLC players can now customise the city introduction screens

When it comes to roads, those who own the Oklahoma DLC will now be able through the city centre on a previously missing section of Interstate 44. I-44 has also received two new depots: a furniture store and a construction site, plus I-40 has two additional truck stops.

Onto the vehicles next. Aerodynamic fairings and wheel covers by FlowBelow can now be installed on seven machines. The dynamic loading feature has been expanded to grain hopper trailers.

Finally, in the user interface, options have been reordered, there is now a search bar and you can now preview custom backgrounds.

As this is an open beta, these changes are not final, however, they should provide a colourful idea as to what the final changes will hold.

The American Truck Simulator 1.51 open beta is live today, 9th August 2024.
