SCS Software has announced that Euro Truck Simulator 2 and American Truck Simulator’s enjoyably derivative Driving Academy modes will receive a fresh set of scenarios shortly.
Originally released in October 2024, the Driving Academy tested players’ trucking technique across five chapters and increasingly difficult challenges, and included tips and explanations on how best to complete them.

However, the new set of scenarios will be bunched together as the ‘Truck Driving Proficiency’ module within the Driving Academy and won’t feature guidance like previous tests, designed as they are for higher-skilled drivers.
SCS will also introduce a new reward system alongside the Truck Driving Proficiency module, with extra tasks required to attain a three-star rating for each test, including restrictions like only using the cockpit camera view or achieving a target completion time.

Unfortunately, a time scale on the new mode’s release has not been proffered but we do know that it won’t arrive with either games’ v1.54 update, with both titles currently in their respective v1.54 Open Beta phases.
Are you looking forward to sampling the new Truck Driving Proficiency module in American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2? Let us know in the comments below.
