Following a teaser last week, the lineup of content for EA SPORTS WRC’s Hard Chargers downloadable content has been confirmed.
We know one car already, the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC used in the real world between 2017 and 2021 to take two constructors’ titles. It will add to the game’s WRC 2017-2021 category, alongside the Ford Fiesta, Volkswagen Polo and Citroën C3.

A notable omission remains the Toyota Yaris of that era, and in fact, any Toyotas outside of the current Rally1 and Rally2 machines.
The Mk1 Ford Escort is a new historic edition, a compact rear-wheel drive car that won many significant events. This included Roger Clark’s 1972 RAC Rally victory, the livery design of which is included.

Next is the 1999-spec Ford Focus WRC car (main article image), an earlier evolution of the 2001 version already seen in the game. This means a larger rear wing, a Martini livery and Colin McRae behind the wheel – his first WRC season for Ford. It was designed and developed by M-Sport, with a certain Guenther Steiner leading the project.
Then there are some contemporary editions. Apart from the Ford Fiesta and Peugeot 208, the front-wheel-drive Rally4 category is a little out of date in EA SPORTS WRC, so now the current Opel Corsa and Renault Clio will be added.

Finally, an odd one, the current four-wheel-drive Rally3 Clio – nice and all, but as it was used to win WRC3-class rallies in 2024, we thought this was going to be part of the 2024-season DLC. No matter, it’s made it eventually.
The new cars sit alongside 18 new real-world liveries, including Marcus Gronholm’s 2006 and 1999 WRC designs, plus Malcolm Wilson’s stunning Michelin design emblazoned on an Escort he used in the 1990s.
He led the 1993 Swedish WRC round, until this…
16 new ‘Moments’ challenges will also be added, utilising some of the latest content, which includes a series of 12 stages set around the following two new locations:
- Rally Sweden – Umea (10.08 km) & Umea Sprint (5.16 km)
- EKO Acropolis Rally Greece – Harvati (14.42 km)
The new routes, cars, challenges and designs are all released on 25th March 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
The pricing has not been confirmed, although the recent Le Maestros pack was £8.99/$9.99 for the same quantity of content.
Hard Chargers is also yours for no additional cost if you have purchased the Season Expansion Bundle or the ‘EA SPORTS WRC 24’ digital re-packaged game.
