The annual Sim Formula Europe expo is picking up momentum ahead of its January 2025 launch date, catering to sim racing fans with a blend of esports, hardware and seminars.
Based in Maastricht, in the southeast of the Netherlands, the expo lasts for four days and runs from the 16th to the 19th of January, 2025.
Visitors to the event can ‘test-drive the latest sim racing gear and cutting-edge technologies from international leading brands’, with the expo held alongside InterClassics, the biggest classic car event in the Benelux region. There’s sure to be plenty for car nerds to see and do, then.
In terms of esports, Sim Formula Europe will host a self-styled ‘European Championship’ on the 16th and 17th of January, where some of the continent’s top sim racers will duke it out to claim a cash prize.
There’s a twist, however, as competitors can’t practise ahead of time as the car, sim and track choices are kept secret. Rumours suggest that Marcel Offermans, of rFactor 2 development fame, may debut his fledgling sim The Last Garage for this very purpose… stay tuned!
Can anyone beat last year’s winner, RAFA Esports’ Jernej Simončič, however? Well, he’ll be up against drivers from the likes of Team Redline, MOUZ and Williams Esports, so it won’t be easy.
