When Assetto Corsa EVO’s v0.3 update dropped, many of you may have noticed an interesting detail in the ‘EVO Garage’ Showroom.
The EVO Garage is a 1:1 recreation of the one found in EVO’s announcement trailer, and developer Kunos Simulazioni has adorned this virtual home space with posters of its previous standalone racing sims, including Assetto Corsa, Assetto Corsa Competizione and NetKar Pro.

Underneath, however, is an unopened photo frame, hinting that another title may soon be joining Kunos’s ‘wall of fame’ (we’re pretty sure it’s not Marangoni Hill Climb Simulator, Trofeo Abarth 500 or Ferrari Virtual Academy, by the way!).
Kunos has previously taken a novel approach to game teasers, with EVO itself revealed thanks to a QR code shown on ACC’s version of the Nürburgring Nordschleife.
In terms of what type of new game we could see from the creators of Assetto Corsa, we must assume it’ll be a racing simulation of some kind, given the Rome developer’s 20-year history in the genre. In theory, Kunos could create another licensed spin-off title in a similar vein to ACC did with the GT World Challenge series, or perhaps execute a complete volte-face and switch from asphalt to dirt by creating a rally game (AC had a few rally-derived cars, after all).

Or could the mystery title be a standalone open-world driving game, following in the footsteps of the uber-successful Forza Horizon franchise? Perhaps even more intriguingly, a drift game, given the success of the CarX games and JDM: Japanese Drift Master. These genres also tap into the original AC’s popularity with online cruise and drift communities.
For now, however, speculation is all we have to go on.
