Circuit of the Americas looks set to be the next track released for embryonic racing simulator Le Mans Ultimate. This weekend, the undulating venue is playable within the simulator for fans visiting the FIA World Endurance Championship round.

The Early Access title, which was released back in February, recently announced a DLC road map that aimed to include all of FIA WEC’s tracks and cars in-game by Q1 2025, with separate content updates set for release in September/October, November and January 2025.

LMU’s first DLC pack, Tifosi Italia, arrived last month, adding Imola and the Peugeot 9X8 2024 and Lamborghini SC63 Hypercars, with its next update set to include COTA and the remaining Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 LMH-C and Alpine A424 Hypercars. Plans to port LMU to console have also been mooted.

COTA is set to host WEC’s sixth round this season this weekend (1st September 2024), with the Texas venue a new addition to the calendar for 2024.

The track has also hosted F1 every year since 2012 barring a sabbatical during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, with a deal in place until 2026 at the very least.

Designed in part by established Formula 1 circuit designer Herman Tilke, COTA features sections emulating classic F1 tracks, with sector one featuring fast sweeps akin to Silverstone’s Maggots and Becketts complex with a facsimile of Istanbul’s much missed multi-corner Turn 8 towards the end of the lap.

Expect to see COTA, the Isotta Fraschini and Alpine in LMU’s next update, set for release in September or October. Quality of life changes for those not owning the DLC are also anticipated within the next two months.
