Another 1990s touring car looks to be on the way to free-to-enter sim racing title RaceRoom – the Renault Laguna.
This follows a teaser post by the game on Instagram, labelled as “devs will kill us for this post”. The main image includes the ‘sneak peak’ working, but behind, we can spot the distinctive yellow and blue paint scheme used by the French car manufacturer in the mid-’90s.
The model was only ever raced, in an official capacity, in the British Touring Car Championship alongside once-a-year appearances at the FIA Touring Car World Cup event. There was also a one-off semi-works appearance at the 1997 Bathurst 1000.
Formula 1 team Williams developed the hatchback between 1995 and 1999, although for its 1994 debut, Renault Sport and MCT developed the first examples.
The specific model in the RaceRoom teaser image is Alain Menu’s from 1997 (main article image), a year in which he’d win the title in dominant fashion.

This follows recent confirmation that further vehicles from this ‘golden era’ of touring car racing were in development.
No release date is known; however, the title’s LMDh cars have been confirmed for a 24th September release.
