Circuit Superstars unveils Top Gear: The Stig Challenge DLC, releases 21st June

The next instalment of content heading to the top-down racer that is Circuit Superstars is Top Gear themed, and it’s due to release next week on the 21st of June.

Original Fire Games announced the plans for the new content on their Discord earlier on Friday (16th June)—Top Gear: The Stig Challenge DLC.

The Top Gear: The Stig Challenge DLC will be the first content pack to the game at an extra cost—yes, you will have to pay for this licenced add-on. The other added content over the years has all been via quality-of-life updates.

This isn’t the first Top Gear DLC for the title, as they added the Top Gear Test Track with a leaderboard challenge back in 2021. This, however, is something brand new. Instead of merely racing around a circuit, it looks as though the DLC will have new gameplay modes that involve obstacle courses and other wacky things to do.

Circuit Superstars, Caravan race, Top Gear The Stig Challenge DLC

These challenges have been inspired by things one would watch on the Top Gear program. It all surrounds the famous test track, but now littered with obstacles, to be added when buying the DLC.

The mysterious character of the Stig, the unnamed driver in an all-white racing suit and helmet from the Top Gear program is the namesake of the challenge. Fitting, honestly, as the character models already existing in Circuit Superstars seems to be heavily influenced by the character.

The 30-second trailer shows off things such as checkpoints, ramps, trailer racing, falling debris and more. There’s also caravan-towing racing action, reminding us of some classic episodes. There’s even a three-wheeled vehicle reminding us of a Reliant Robin. The devs hope to bring a new fun aspect to the title with the upcoming release.

A price is not yet available for the content due out next week. This follows the title’s release on Nintendo Switch earlier this week. It’s the first update since the game’s roadmap was touched upon last September. This DLC will be available on all platforms, including the Switch, as well as PlayStation, Xbox and PC.
